Public Release – Tainted Space 0.6.38!

Who would have thought that when I said Saturday, I actually meant Saturday and not early in the AM the next day? Wheeeeee~

0.6.38 Changelog:

  • You can now collect panties from five new characters! Four are on Myrellion. Good luck finding them all~
  • There are now scenes for using panties that came from 100% female NPCs.
  • Jotted out some further discussion with Emmy about her implant.
  • Added a bunch of new status effect icons and started recoloring some of them to better differentiate them. Thanks Geddy for whipping up the subsystem for this!
  • Lewded up a few of Emmy’s old talk scenes and menus.
  • Some crashy issues have been fixed.

Also, for those wondering about it, I hear Gedan has been poking at coding the final dungeon stuff we jotted down for CoC.

New Since Last Public Build

  • New Busts: Vahn, Aina, Cass, Vaande, Emmy, Wetra Hound,
  • The culmination of the quest to get with Emmy (until I wind up deciding to make her a crewmate) and some lovely new scenes.
  • Dynamic, fluid-based belly deformation.
  • New Item: Nyrean Candy – transforms the user into a Nyrea.
  • Zeikfried’s crystal goo fights are added to the game. They can be found in the deep caves. Gardeford’s crystal goo are still there in silly mode.
  • New Vahn scenes.
  • Three NPC’s and a whole new deck added to Tavros.
  • Game credits are no longer placeholder – mostly.
  • New Item: Mangos

Next month is looking bright. I’m going to wrap up Emmy (there’s still a scene I want to do), and it’s pretty damned likely I’ll be starting Uveto. There’s some real nice content in the hopper just waiting for my hot little hands to get on it!

Bug Hunting!

Shou_Anno_Kiro_Sidebar_Ad_Raw jacques00_emmyThere’s two big bug-hunting initiatives at the moment that I wanted to bring your attention to.

First up is Gedan’s quest to solve some bizarre crash bugs that have rendered the game unplayable for some individuals. If your symptoms match what’s described in this thread, please post there with all the requested data so that we can get it working for you.

Secondly is my own mini initiative. When we started the game, there was no code for tracking where fluids went long term, then we got the “loadIn” series of functions, courtesy of Gedan. They were mainly only used for determining pregnancy, and as such, not much attention was paid in cases that couldn’t result in pregnancy. Now, with Emmy, I’ve introduced the ability for fluids to bulge bellies or splatter all over a character, but I need help finding exactly which scenes need updated.

If you notice a scene isn’t correctly filling or soaking you, please help me out by going over to the forums and following the instructions.

So what else have I done today? Added ten or fifteen new status effect icons we can use, started categorizing status effects by color. Harmful ones in red and long-term passives in purplish. Sometime I’ll get around to doing the buffs in green, I guess. I also made a few tweaks to lewd up Emmy’s talk scenes and sex menu texts. Gonna go write that discussion about her implant now!

Emmybuns

adjatha_ainaTook me a day longer than originally planned to finish up the sex scene I needed. I started putting text to code last night, but it might wind up being Monday before we see the build with her, it being the weekend and all. It all depends on how much time I spend coding instead of hanging out with my girlfriend in the evenings and how tired I am from getting up at 6am to do family stuff. I miss having weekends with no responsibilities.

I’ll keep you posted.

Gedan is looking into the crash on new game/load that seems to be affecting some Firefox users, but I can’t guarantee we’ll have a fix. It seems to run fine on chrome or decently up to date flash players.

[Backer Release] 0.6.34, The JimThermic Edition

emmyHey guys, it looks like JimThermic is retiring from TiTS writing. There’s still a few odds and ends of his in the hopper, but it works out nicely that there’s a ton of content from him in this patch to say goodbye with. We’re all gonna miss him, I think.

0.6.34 Changelog:

  • New busts for Cass and Vaande, by Adjatha.
  • Additional Vahn scenes actually coded in this time.
  • JimThermic’s residential deck has been added to the game, complete with two new NPCs of his and a third written by Nonesuch. Enjoy them! (Accessible via Tavros station’s elevator)

[PUBLIC RELEASE] 0.6.33 IS OUT!

Shou_Jacques00_Wettra_Hound0.6.33 is out for everybody here and on my FA. Properly functioning android builds have been redistributed to taintedspace.com as well. Sorry about the hiccups on that – I assume there was an issue with our buildscripts that needed sorted.

  • Savin’s “egg trainer” device has been added to the game. You can buy it from Inessa’s and install it in your ship. This is my first time coding a pregnancy effect myself, so be gentle – it could have weird bugs that I failed to suss out. Additionally, the “Faux Pregnancy” option isn’t quite 100% yet.
  • Four new Vahn scenes, courtesy of JimT & Savin’s coding (!!!)
  • Hoverboards can now help some immobilized characters scoot around.
  • Groundwork has been laid to allow for immobilization by other parts in the future.
  • MightyTight has been added to the game.
  • Ovilium has been added to the game.
  • Sterilex has been added to the game.
  • Special eggs (from Ovilium) have been added to the game by Jacques00, along with the above items.

[Backers] 0.6.31 – Dungeon of Dungeontude

I’d like to apologize for this week being kind of dry on the blog post front. I’ve definitely let some of the comm relays drop offline, and frankly, that’s unacceptable. Fortunately, we’ve been busy little raskvel back here. A brain-trust of our best and brightest has been looking over the Phaedra II planning document (formerly called Xandam), and Zeikfried promptly skewered half my ideas. Still, we’re laying some good groundwork there to have an alternate starter planet with a little more plot to it than Mhen’ga.

As an example, one of the ideas involves fighting your way across post-apocalyptic big-rigs driven by aggressive hyena tribals. Yeah, Mad Max and fallout influences will definitely be felt there. No actual writing is done for yet, of course (aside from a few Codices), I’m too busy jamming my face into Emmy’s crotch and hoping that I can find a completed quest somewhere in there. Last night I managed to work out 1,000 words or so of stuff to set up the last stage of her quest. I might be making it slightly more complicated than I originally intended.

Goddamn feature creep.

0.6.31 Changelog:

  • Kara Quest 2 Dungeon should be active. It might be super buggy, but it should also have a pretty solid chunk of new combat for you to play with – as well as some party-ish combat! (Thanks, Gedan!)
  • Lots of new items for the above Dungeon.
  • Some new busts were added to the game, by Shou and JayEcho.
  • Nonesuch’s Sera expansion is added to the game thanks to Jacques00.
  • Figured out how to set up a .swf wrapper to upload to furaffinity to skate around their 10MB restriction for posting public builds there. We may broaden its use in time, but the current version has issues with caching.
  • Tech Disruptor attacks are now AoE (I might revert or play with this one).
  • Overcharge’s multiplier now increases when the PC unlocks multiple attacks in order to keep it competitive.
  • Enhanced Dampeners now actually does something.
  • Shield boost has been tweaked.
  • You shouldn’t be able to start Emmy’s quest unless you learn her name.
  • An incorrectly linked room has been fixed.
  • Assloads of other tweaks and fixes.

No new patch today! I didn’t get a tremendous amount done today. One thing I’m discovering with cutting out caffeine and alcohol from my diet is just how dependent on them I am. I didn’t drink that much booze, but I typically had at least a beer almost every night. So now that I’m not drinking it at all, I’m finding that I’m sleeping worse, and without caffeine to help prop me up during the day (plus added fatigue from my lack of caffeine), I’m not exactly 100%.

So I mostly just managed to catch up on my communications with team members and spend two hours reviewing the “serious-mode” version of the ganrael that Zeikfried has been cooking up. It’s crazy complicated! I’ll probably try to rough out the sex scenes but let Gedan handle the combat code for them, mostly Z wants some crazy stuff to happen in their fights AND I’m not familiar with any of the new combat workings yet.

Speaking of our local code-dragon, she informs me that one of Savin’s group combat adventures is mostly done. It just needs actual testing and tuning. Hopefully we can bukkake that over our backers faces sometime next week!

Also, I spent some time crapping out some youtube footage I had taken/editing last week onto my channel. One of the videos is below the break if you wanna poke at it. The other should pop up sometime tomorrow afternoon. It was a good mindless task for me to poke at around today.


[Public] 0.6.29 Release & [Backers] 0.6.30 Release!

Renezuo_VKo_LQSince the last public build still had a solid chunk of bugs, I’ve gone ahead and given you guys one more build to try and polish off some of the rough spots before you have to wait again. Sadly, because I’m a big doo-doo brain, I’ve locked a pile of new content behind the backer wall. Gotta pay the bills somehow!

  • [0.6.30 Only] Vi, a V-Ko droid, has been added to the Gildenmere hospital on Myrellion. She’s written by JimThermic and comes packed with a metric crap-ton of content.
  • [0.6.30 Only] Vi’s shop allows you to buy some new items, including a new shield generator and two fun little outfits for your armor slot.
  • Stat bars should scroll up from 0 properly when starting anew or loading in.
  • Replaced Nevrie’s bust with one by Shou. I THINK a non-nude version should be on its way as well.
  • Properly enabled the Wetraxxel’s nude bust, even though you can barely see any difference.
  • Renamed Codex headings to avoid text clipping.
  • Added a “Robotic”  Races subheader and migrated the two V-Ko codex entries under it. Note to self: add codex for Companion Droids…
  • Kiro should have the proper vagina type.
  • Fixed a potential crash in beard descriptions.
  • Fixed a potential hang-up in Bess’s progression.
  • Cleaned up some ‘}’s that were floating around the text in a few places.
  • Jacques00 did some sorting in the items menu, most notably splitting Key Items into their own sub-tab.
  • Gedan laid the groundwork for the first proper dungeon full of party combat.
  • Varmint wrangling should be fixed.
  • The usual cadre of typo and grammar fixes.
  • Many other tweaks and fixes I was too lazy to hunt down individually.

[Public Release] 0.6.26

adjatha_kiro_stephPublic build time! I know of at least one bug that still needs shaken loose – the game skips the last screen of combat text before you display the victory screen. There’s probably some other ones in the new stuff Jacques00 patched in today. I’ll probably have at least one public fix build sometime over the weekend to clean things up before we go back to backers-only mode.

Trials in Tainted Space 0.6.26 Changelog:

  • For backers, this one is mostly just some fixes and tweaks.
  • Jacques00 also added a frog-girl transformation item to Mhen’ga [UNTESTED] and Savin’s varmint pet expansion [UNTESTED].

Stuff Changed Since Last Public Build:

    • Introduced a million new bugs.

  • You can now sell the mhen’ga probe if you beat your cousin. Thanks Jacques00!
  • Added the fourth and fifth stages of GaloMax transformations. Note that there are four GaloMax drops available in the game at the moment, so use the “furfag” infinite item use cheat if you would like to go all the way to being made of goo.
  • A ton of other new bug fixes.
