0.8.014 Changelog:
- Another pirate encounter has been added to the game. This one can only occur when traveling to Zheng Shi, Uveto, or Myrellion. She’s a Slyveren member of the Star Vipers, though not quite a slavebreaker. Wsan penned her, and now that I’m writing this, I realize I never wired up the blurb for her hopping off the ship in some of the victory options. Next time!
- Note this encounter is fairly uncommon. Trying to farm it likely won’t be very fun, but I’m unwilling to have pirate ship attacks be too common. Getting jumped that frequently isn’t fun.
- A new piece of ship equipment was added to the game: Stealth Field Generator. It works much like the smuggler ability. For now, our new NPC is the only person who can make use of it.
- Some cheat codes got changed. “furfag” got changed to “urta” and “sjw” was swapped to “poison.”
- Lots of fixes from Jacques00.

Good to see that we will be facing the pirates off zheng shi. Hopefully there will be more bad ends like the good doctors ^_^ now to be able to dominate and eventually create an entire fleet of ships is all I need to be able to have the entire universe bow before steele 😀

Is it possible to get hawk wings in this game?
Sadly, no. While there are a number of Wing types, the only bird wings are Dove (Dove Balm) and the generic Avian (Amber Seed, Siren’s Bounty).

Maybe something that could effect the chances of pirate encounters would be a good idea? like maybe a modified transponder or something. make it so has the option of illegally disabling itself to decrease encounter chances or spoof the transponder signal of a juicy merchant ship or something to increase encounter chance.

Technically he did. Go to branches and select public instead of master.
And it is actually fairly handy if master is the previous public update and public is the current public update. It allows us wiki editors to see differences between revisions fairly easily
Shouldn’t the Sidewinder have something like that stealth pack already? I seem to recall that it was supposed to be undetectable by radar, sonar, etc.
Having a small sensor profile is different from an actively-projected field that only lasts 30 seconds or so.

Do slyveren really have outward ears? (Mentioned in the new encounter) And what kind of ears?
This one’s a bit less snaky than most – she has hair instead of a hood, for example.
It is in the codex that the slyverians’ are one of the top consumers of cosmetic mods. So them having vastly different looks sounds within the realm of possibilities since Fen hasn’t put down any limitation for them.
Just make a “pirateraid” cheat code that greatly increases pirate encounter rates

I wish to raise a consern some have brought to my attention. There are some members of the trans community who in not a small number play your game. Many have expressed problems with some of the trans slurs used, so to create a more friendly community and atmosphere, I ask that the use of such terms be reevaluated or perhaps a setting that someone can choose to include them. Given that this community is already ostracized I hope that you take this into account

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the doctor in the beginning who works for Victor, who asks if he’d like to make his son something like ‘the world’s hottest tranz”, which admittedly made me side-eye a bit. I’m not trans myself however, so what I think doesn’t matter that much.
You need to grow a thicker spine dude, their subjective words that only have an offensive meaning if you choose to give them one.
yea im also one who advocate that words only have the meanings that we give them, hence why the usage of words change, we get new ones, or words disappears or gets replace. if your offended by a word then its your fault for giving that word the power to offend you. stigmatizing words is the worst thing some one can do, dont ban words, remove their power. i mean kids in my country (sweden, stockholm) call each other degrading words like its a nickname, and have for the past 15 years, since the words have lost its power. context also changes words, like a inside joke in one community can be an insult in another. like my group of friends call loot whores or ninjas for jews, not because we are racist but because its a inside joke. and like if i (a dude) get called gay i just respond with that “actually im bisexual and yes i do take it up the ass”

Many have expressed problems with other people who on the behalf of others who are offended on their behalf who push changes to create a “more friendly community and atmosphere,” Happy generalizations that anyone can agree with, but in detail include, but not limited to.
1.Censoring Content/Cutting Content of peoples liberty to create content only for certain content instead of what they are passionate about.
2.Relying on hordes of outrage and a reliance of claiming others to use as their sword and shield instead of speaking on the one point they could claim themselves.
3.Traits and unique defining characteristics that originally brought people together to be here of all backgrounds to be shamed or beat over the head with a stick when the place has nothing to do with peoples personal beliefs or feelings in the first place. Instead of choosing to leave respectfully and choose other junctions they pursue actions that polarize and politicize the community.
If enough individuals wish to use such terms be reevaluated or a setting that someone can choose to include them is fine. Given that this community has already done many good faith measures in the past and moving forward. I applaud you wisdom and urge you to not fall in the trap of people who make a basis argument of other people instead of themselves and you take this into account.
