Damn dude. I got it once. All I can say is good rest, drink lots of water, and stay well fed. Avoid strenuous work.
I honestly don’t think I’m capable of strenuous work. This shit is wild. Like the symptoms shift every few hours.
The only constant is the pain in my throat making it hard AF to swallow (goddamn tonsils… I wish I had gotten them out as a kid)
But otherwise I get shit like the below cycling in and out:
-Pain all the way into both ears
-fever
-aches
-chills
-sweats
-viscous saliva (its so gross)
I’m just struggling to sleep cause I’ll get 2-3 hours, then my throat’ll dry out and make swallowing feel like being knifed, and wake me up.
Hang in there and look after yourself.
I still remember getting the damn virus twice. once before I was due my first covid vaccine, meaning I HAD TO WAIT EVEN LONGER to get the vaccine, the second a short time later. I was fine with the coughing and chills, the worst part was I lost my appetite due to food tasting different which made eating unappealing.
Jesus Christ, dude D:
Take care of yourself <3
I will not go quietly into the night. I will not vanish, without a fight. I’m going to live on! I’m going to survive!
take as much time as you need Fen your rest and health are more important rest well
I recommend getting some sunlight too when you can get the strength. Vitamin D actually helps a lot I hear.
I remember having covid and when I was finally able to get out of bed and just sit on my back patio it did help a quite a bit
first time I got it near the beginning of the Pandemic, I felt like utter death for the first 2 days; really hope the vax helps ease some of your symptoms, bud. get well soon
my advice is to get like a gallon or two of pedialyte, burrito yourself up in some blankets, and sweat it out. worked for me at least
That’s most unfortunate. I hope you get better soon. Drink plenty of water and rest all you need ^^
take care of yourself first before thinking about trying to release any updated content, we can wait a week.
Rest that is all you should do lots of rest (yeah life doesnt allow i know). Have a speedy recovery and dont think about work , health is more important.
Paying respects in the comments.
Also get better soon.
please rest
I got it 3 weeks after my second vax. Didn’t seem to help me much, sadly. I was bedridden with malaise and weakness for a week. I hope things go better for you. Don’t forget to hydrate and don’t be afraid of a low grade fever. That’s your immune system doing its job. Population-wide overuse of paracetamol have been shown to result in worse recovery from viral infection.
I got it once too. Not fun. Can’t add any more advice and it’s already been given. Rest, water, and whatever symptom fighting meds the doctors gave you.
This sucks. When I was sick, my sense of taste and smell was gone, and I also had a bad cough with a slight fever. It seems that because of some childhood vaccination, in my country, the illness was easier.
I can wish you only good luck and back to health fast. Covid is no joke, stay rested and strengthen your body.
Take care of yourself, F.
You’re the Man.
i got that a while back, was not fun, wasn’t even able to work compensation on a technicality. Stupid Amazon.
also get better man! Take it easy!
Ugh man that’s rough, I only got it once during the pandemic and that shit was terrible. Lost half my sense of taste, everything had a metallic tinge to it, made it hard to put down food. Well wishes to you Fen.
Sorry to hear about this, hoping you feel better!
I had the new variant that gives you strep a few weeks ago, I was dying and couldn’t swallow water shit sucked. good luck mate
Take care. I found that Theraflu really helped me with COVID. The tea kind, not the pills.
Damn, hope you get well soon. I never got Covid, but the vac alone knocked me on my ass for a day or two so I can’t even imagine what the real deal is like.
Hold on bro, I hope you get better as soon as possible. We’ve already written a lot of useful things here, and I want to add on my own: beware of pneumonia, it creeps up unnoticed. If you start coughing all the time for no reason with a regular fever and chills, it means that this shit is almost certainly starting and you need to check your lungs as soon as possible, otherwise complications will snowball and you will have to lie under a drip for weeks. It is very useful to have a large mug of chamomile infusion at hand to drink it all day, rinse your mouth with it, and so on. It will moisturize, soothe and disinfect your throat.
The first time you get it is always the worst. I’ve had it twice now, and the first time was really rough, a full week+ of absolute hell. The second time was bad for 2-3 days, and then was pretty mild for a week or so of recovery after that.
Ooof, Yha, I know that feeling. Make sure to get plenty of fluids and rest.
Holy hell dude. Just rest and take it as best you can. Sounds like a living nightmare.
Take care Fen, may you have a speedy recovery.
People can still get it? Wow, I never vaccinated and I never got it even living with someone that works in a hospital
yeah people are still getting it, its just not being reported anymore, the vaccines really made it more of a more horrible version of flu but the vaccines do help lessen the life-threatening effects, as for your roommate who works in a hospital I can say as a hospital EVS employee myself that those of us who work in hospitals are really vigilant on doing everything we can not to get sick with even a cold and that’s where my Work comes in by using everything from 25 watt UV rays for disinfecting all the way to just regular old bleach.
Yes people can still get it.
Yes vaccinated people can still get it since the vaccines have a 70% to 90% success rate, depends on the type and against which variant.
Yes vaccinated people can still get it even after getting the vaccine response since your body forgets. That means a 3 to 6 month immunity period after getting COVID or a successful vaccination you can get COVID (again). Vaccination (or having had COVID) will reduce the chance of getting COVID, the severity if you get it, and reduces chances of long term effects for about a year after that reducing in effectiveness during this time period.
hope you get better soon
Take care of yourself. My uncle died of Covid and left behind a wife and two kids.
rest well, good luck.
as someone who just got hit with covid too I feel you, I can’t see my 3 month old so I don’t get them sick and it’s kinda making it harder, so I hope you’re managing well and taking care of yourself it I know it sucks when you’re vaxxed and you still get the shit, hope you feel better soon
Look after yourself Fen, hope you’re better soon!
ok two things….have fun figuring out your new taste buds as it seems to fucks with them and i hope you get better real soon dude covid sucks big fucking time
Hang on, rest a lot and heal. Take care of your health. Wish you well.
